Weekly Exercise Program for Ladies
A proposed weekly exercise program for ladies to be held in the Tennyson Room was floated at announcements on Tuesday and seemed to be well received.
Matt Winkley from Winkfit has teamed up with professional golfer and exercise physiologist, Gennai Goodwin whose photo is attached below. Some of you may remember her as she has trained at BGC with the QAS Squad.
Together Matt and Gennai have created a programme specifically for lady golfers called “GolfCore”. At its centre GolfCore is a mixture of all the best bits of mobility, pilates, yoga and bodyweight and band strength work to improve the athleticism of each participant.
Weekly 1-hour sessions are proposed and each week there will be tweaks to the programme to keep it fresh and interesting. Ladies will need to bring their own yoga mats and water bottle but other than that, Winkfit will supply any other equipment needed. Cost will be $15 for the first session and then packages of 4 sessions for $60 can be purchased. Classes are scheduled to start the week of Monday, 3 May 2021.
The classes are designed to be inclusive, and size, shape, fitness, age and ability will not limit participation.
