Revised Fixture Dates

Just giving you an update on the revised fixtures for the remainder of the 2021 golfing season at BGC. These dates are subject to the current restrictions easing on Sunday, 22 August and no further snap lockdowns or other unforeseen events that may occur.

The timesheets will be amended to suit the revised competitions over the remainder of the year, but any individual booking will remain.

The current conditions for us to play the game we all love include no playing of major events, honour boards or inter club events. This includes any match play events that have been scheduled for play within this and next week. So, if you have, for example, a Mocatta match scheduled for play either this weekend or the next, you will just be playing in the competition of the day. If you play your match during this time, the result will be null and void, and your match will be played as per the schedule.  Everyone who has yet to complete their second rounds Mocatta match will receive a notification regarding their match date and time. As per last year and the first round this year, whoever finished higher up in the rundown will be given preference to the times allocated (AM or PM).  If this does not suit, please contact your opponents as soon as possible to reschedule. The completion of the second round matches is Sunday, 29 August so we can complete the playing calendar.

For a quick run down on the Honour Board Events yet to be played or completed that are on the weekends, below is a quick summary of the remaining schedule.

• Sunday 19 September – Brisbane Shield Qualifying Round
• Saturday 25 September – Mocatta Round 3, Womens Medal of Medallists
• Sunday 26 September – Brisbane Shield Quarter Finals
• Saturday 2 October – Mens October Monthly Medal
• Saturday 16 October – Mocatta Quarter Finals
• Saturday 23 October – MT Stafford Qualifying Round
• Sunday 24 October – Brisbane Shield Semi Finals
• Saturday 30 October – MT Stafford Quarter Finals
• Sunday 31 October – Brisbane Shield Final
• Saturday 6 November – MT Stafford Semi Finals
• Saturday 13 November – MT Stafford Final
• Saturday 20 November – Mocatta Semi Finals
• Saturday 27 November – Mens November Monthly Medal & Mens Medal of Medallists

• Saturday 11 December – Closing Day – Mens December Monthly Medal, AGM

There has been no change to the dates for the Nellie Hatton dates or the mid-week women’s Monthly Medals.

The Macartney Cup dates are now scheduled for 12 October (qualifying), 14 October (quarter final), 19 October (semi final) and 21 October (final).

As you can see, the calendar is now full, with an event on every week until closing day.  Fingers crossed we can get through without further changes. The revised fixture book will be available on the app and on the website shortly.
