Note from the President – Flood Update
The course recovery continues to progress well and the water has receded from our greens and they have now all been cleaned. This is a fantastic result in less than a week from the peak of the floods.
Next week we will focus on our other playing surfaces and as reported yesterday our volunteer program will run every morning and afternoon from next Monday to Friday. The volunteers this week were able to remove significant amounts of debris from the course and once again I thank our volunteers for their valuable efforts. If you would like to volunteer next week please book via our timesheets.
We have also spent considerable time this week in the maintenance shed to get it safe and operational again and we have also been working on restoring our irrigation system. Both of these tasks are also progressing well.
Please be advised the Golf Shop will be open on Saturday, 5 March 2022 and Sunday, 6 March 2022 from 9am to 12pm. From Monday, 7 March 2022 these times will be extended to 3pm each day. This will allow Members to have access to their golf clubs and if anyone needs assistance with their golf club in terms of repairs we will be on hand to assist.
Additionally we are on track, depending on weather, to have both the East and West Practice Greens open for putting and chipping from Tuesday, 8 March 2022. This will allow our golf tuition to re-commence and Members can make a booking with Lee, Gaz, Richard and Asha online this date onwards. We anticipate our Junior and Ladies’ coaching clinics will re-commence also.
At this stage a date for when the course will re-open is unknown but we are working towards having some holes available to Members as soon as we can.
