Pace of Play Tips
The Match Sub-Committee has identified the need to improve our pace of play and to assist make an improvement in this area has developed the following Pace of Play Tips.
Please take the time to read these tips and add them to your golfing routine.
- Be ready to tee off on time if the fairway is clear
- If you qualify for the Centurion Club you can play from the yellow tees
- You are able to play if you are ready and it is safe to do so
- Play “ready golf”
- Putt out instead of marking your ball if you are not standing on anyone’s line
- Read your putt when other golfers are preparing to putt
- Record your score on the next tee block
- If you can’t find your ball within 3 minutes, the ball is declared lost
- If a ball is lost in the rough, use the local rule E-5 and drop it on the fairway in line of where the ball was lost and add 2 strokes (playing 4 from the fairway if tee shot was lost) instead of returning to play from previous spot.
- Watch where you hit to assist you find your ball in the rough.
- Playing a provisional ball can be helpful
- Utilise the “Mercy” rule (5 over par on any given hole)
