Trial Change to Booking Process for Saturday Competition
We have received a significant amount of feedback regarding accessibility of timesheets on Saturdays, as such, the Committee has decided to trial a different process for five weeks as of Saturday, 18 June 2022.
During this time we will be monitoring booking patterns and noting groups that have been booked, who booked them, and the amount of “dropouts”.
The trial process is as follows:
- The time sheet will open at 6am on a Thursday for Full and Senior Members eligible to play on a Saturday, allowing 48 hours prior access to the time sheet.
- The Golf Shop will exercise their discretion to amalgamate the time sheet where there are singles or doubles, prior to it opening as normal on a Saturday morning. This will ensure there are flights of four available.
- The time sheet will open as normal at 6am on a Saturday morning, 14 days prior to the competition, for all other Members eligible to play on a Saturday
- The trial will start for the competition on Saturday, 18 June 2022, i.e. bookings will open 6am on Thursday, 2 June 2022 for Full and Senior Members, and 6am on Saturday, 4 June 2022 for all other Members eligible to play on a Saturday.
- The trial will end with the competition on Saturday, 23 July 2022. Bookings will return to normal for Saturday, 30 July 2022, i.e. timesheets will be open for all from 6am on Saturday, 16 July 2022.
To allay fears of missing out on a game, we have done an analysis of Saturday utilisations and we are nowhere near 100%. That means that even though you may be on the waitlist you will still be having a game. Click on the button below to see this analysis.
We will also be introducing trial shotgun starts on a couple of Saturday’s through the Winter period, but with a system whereby cart members will start from the outer holes. This will increase the amount of players we can have in one field, as well as give walkers the closer starting holes.
This decision has not been taken lightly and we thank you for your patience and consideration during this trial period. As always if you have any questions or feedback please do not hesitate to contact Joe, Reece, Geoff or ourselves.
Kind regards
Ash Sturmer & Janet Nathanson, Men’s Captain & Women’s Captain
