5th Hole Tee Precinct Enhancement

The 5th hole tee precinct enhancement is a project that the Committee and our Course Superintendent has identified as a high priority.

Being in this core zone of our Course, it is an area that players pass through several times during their round, and therefore improving its function and aesthetic presentation is of great importance to the golfing experience.

The enhancement project, refined in consultation with our Course Architect – Paul Mogford and Course Superintendent – David Mason, involves;

  • removal of trees which are growing into the line of play from the 5th tees, including trees in the pond, path and creek area which are in poor condition – to open up views.
  • pond edge adjustments and drainage improvements.
  • path alterations to improve players access to the 5th and ensure the safer flow from the 16th green to the 17th tee.
  • Tee re-levelling, turfgrass and landscape remediation.

These works have been scheduled in the program to commence this winter; our driest time, in order to minimise damage to surrounds from machinery, and so that new works will repair and establish quickly with the coming spring/summer growth period.

The project is programmed to be done in phases, with the first step being the removal of vegetation planned for next week on Tuesday, 16 August and Wednesday, 17 August.

Please be aware that tee locations may be adjusted to forward positions while works are undertaken. The safety of both the members, staff and contractors is paramount and signage will be in place as required.
