Ladies’ Opening Days & Welcome
Welcome to the 2023 golfing season at The Brisbane Golf Club.
We hope that everyone has had a wonderful Christmas break and an enjoyable start to the New Year and are looking forward to a great year at The Brisbane Golf Club.
The electronic Member Diary has been released and is on the website. Please take note of all special events within the golfing calendar and take the time to enter this into your personal diary for reference throughout the year. Let us hope for favourable golfing weather in 2023.

This year there will be a number of shotgun start events that will be followed by lunch in the Tennyson Room. The first of these after opening day is Irish Day on Tuesday, 14 March, more about that later.

Thursday, 17 January – 1pm Mahjong recommences

Saturday, 4 February Opening Day
This is our Full Member Opening Day and we will be playing qualifying events for the Johnson-Staines 4BBB stableford with the top 16 pairs to qualify. The event will continue over the next 6 months.
Further details of Saturday opening day and competitions will be sent out by Kate Morgan/Yvonne Butcher- Saturday Representative.
Tuesday, 7 February- Opening Day & Bring and Buy Market
We are playing a 9-Hole Stableford with a 9am shotgun start.
This is also our fundraising market day for the ladies. Please bring your baked goods, chutneys, jams, handmade crafts and treasures and so on to sell on the day. It would be helpful if all items for sale could be delivered by 9am on the morning of the 7 February, or earlier if possible. Items that are not perishable can be left in the Committee room prior to the day. Please note all food items need to be labelled with ingredients list.
Our timetable for this event is
- 8:00am Morning tea
- 9:00am 9-hole Stableford competition, shotgun start
- 11:00am Bring and Buy stalls open
- 12.15pm Lunch in the Tennyson room
- 12.45pm Welcome by MEG Chair and Ladies’ Captain
The Brisbane Golf Club will be providing a complimentary light lunch for all opening days. RSVP or booking for lunch are not required.
Tuesday 28 February- Clare Kirkwood Trophy
Captain’s vs President’s 4BBB Matchplay (Free Golf) Nomination sheet will open on 31 January.
Please remember that actual playing partners and teams will be configured by the current Women’s Captain and Chair of the Member Engagement Committee a week prior to competition.
