Tropical Cyclone Alfred Update

Here is a further update on the precautions taking place at the Club while Tropical Cyclone Alfred continues to menace the South East Queensland coast.

At the Club, wind gusts are predicted to reach 90km an hour, making falling branches and uprooting of trees likely. Rainfall is predicted to be intense and flooding is a major concern.

While some uncertainty remains around the exact path of the cyclone, we are commencing our precautionary action plan.

The plan prioritises the safety of our members and staff, while protecting the Club’s facilities as much as possible.

Tuesday 4 March: Our course team, staff and volunteers are evacuating the maintenance shed and pump room and clearing all course furniture from the course.

Wednesday 5 March: The golf course, Clubhouse, Golf Shop, Range and other practise facilities will be closed until further notice.

The Club will reopen as soon as possible once conditions are deemed safe.

We will keep you updated through the App feed (middle button), email, and the Latest News section of the members’ website.

Thank you for your support as we manage this evolving situation. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to myself or our CEO, Geoff Kuehner on 0411 412 666 or via geoff@brisbanegolfclub.com.au.

Stay safe and take care.

Kind regards
