Tropical Cyclone Alfred Update

I hope that you and your families are safe during this challenging weather event.  Our thoughts are with those who have been directly impacted by the cyclone and its aftermath.

Our CEO, Geoff Kuehner and Course Superintendent, Marcus Hartup’s latest inspection of the course and facilities was conducted on Sunday afternoon.

Here is an update of the current situation.

Weather impacts

The heavy rainfall, 275mm since Thursday, has caused substantial flooding at the Club, with flood levels continuing to rise. The strong winds have brought down a few trees but mainly in the course surrounds. The Clubhouse and Golf Shop have sustained no structural damage.

Power outages

Both the Clubhouse and Golf Shop are without power. We are awaiting further information from Energex on when reconnection is likely. The situation is being closely monitored, and we will keep you informed of any developments. We have a generator running our freezers in the kitchen.

Course closure

Given the current conditions, the course will be closed on Monday, 10 March 2025, and Tuesday, 11 March 2025. We will reassess the situation and provide a further update in the next 24 to 36 hours. Further course closures are expected.
