Volunteer Update

Today the volunteers braved probably the coldest morning of 2025 with a brisk wind chill factor seeing the temperature plummet. We ventured out to the 15th tee and made great progress down the left side, trimming all the low hanging branches, clearing trees of invasive strangling vines and poisoning many of them. We soon warmed up.

With our large tractor trailer in tow we managed to fill and empty some 9 large loads. Players will notice a big difference in this area, being much clearer, enabling balls to be more easily found and put back into play greatly improving the pace of play, enjoyment of the game and enhanced course vistas. The bush curlews have also nodded their approval of this programme with their population noticeably on the rise in these areas.

Thanks to the following Volunteers for their time; John Puttick, Greg Moroney, Malcolm Cramb, Phil Jefferson, Al Haydock, John Rogers and Rob Keers, ably led by the chainsaw gang of Marcus, Mark and Eric.

The next Volunteer Monday will be possibly September 22nd so please note this date and look forward to seeing the old and new band of helpers again.

Cheers

Lloyd Cotterill
