Board Update – January 2026
This message summarises the resolutions and updates discussed at the January Board meeting. Links to documents and online resources are in bold.
1. House Accounts: Members with a house account that is more than 30 days overdue will not be able to add further charges to the account until their entire account balance has been fully paid. This includes daily competition fees. If a member is on the timesheet to play in the daily competition and they have a house account that is more than 30 days overdue, they will be removed from the timesheet. Members with overdue accounts receive a weekly reminder from the Finance team to rectify their account. Members can now conveniently maintain their house account balance through our House Account Auto Top-Up Form. Please note that this feature is available for credit card payments only, as bank account payments are not supported by our NorthStar system. Members can then set an automatic top up amount, for example $100, every time their house account goes under $50.Please return the completed form to geoff@brisbanegolfclub.com.au.
2. Green Resurfacing Program: Work on holes 14, 15 and 16 commences next week with members playing holes 10, 17 and 18 once again. The greens are settling is well and will continue to improve, particularly in the growing months. With the greens presently playing softer, please ensure that any pitch marks are promptly repaired.
3. Hole 1 tees and the practice green: The work is progressing as expected and members are witnessing the speed and expertise of our contractors. The next steps are the inclusion of drainage to the area then turfing in February. The work will be concluded after the 14,15 and 16 construction phase is complete. The works will enhance member safety, avoid resurfacing a green that may be relocated in the coming years, provide a larger sized putting green and reduce traffic congestion outside of the Garden Room. A video of the progress is available in Instagram.
4. Bunkers: A strategy is in development to renovate all bunkers. Approaches used at other SE QLD Clubs will be considered, priority problem areas will be identified, some bunkers will be reduced in size, and costings will be prepared to progressively address the matter across a 5-year period.
5. Handicapping issues: Members will have noticed recent difficulties in recording rounds for handicapping purposes as well as incorrect indexing and card presentation for competition rounds. The rollout of GA Connect and its interface with MiScore has unfortunately presented ongoing challenges. These issues cannot be resolved in-house and require extensive liaison and troubleshooting at Golf Australia. GA Connect have informed us that completed rounds will be adjusted and handicapped when the issues have been rectified. We appreciate your patience while this work continues.
