Board Update – February 2026
This message summarises the resolutions and updates discussed at the recent Board meeting. Links to documents and online resources are in bold.
1. Welcome to the over 40 new members who have patiently waited to join us while the greens were being resurfaced. We’re delighted to finally meet you and hope you thoroughly enjoy your membership. See you at the New Members welcome function on Wednesday, 18 March.
2. Green Resurfacing Program: After just over 12 months we have 23 new greens, 4 new tees and bunker renovations in progress thanks to the amazing work of our Management Team. Everyone has had a role to play in bringing the project in on time and on budget, keeping the course and hospitality services open during the year. Growing in period ahead for the final 4 greens. Atlas Golf Services are finished on the site on Monday, 2 March. Read more about progress in the Course update, which are pblished twice a month.
3. 1st tee opening: The Hole 1 tees opened on Saturday, 28 February. The last of the concreting was also poured on the same day. The first ball was hit from the new 1st tee on Friday, around 2.00pm by myself as President to mark the occasion. Members joined the gallery for a photo opportunity soon to be posted on Instagram in the first of the BGC130 Then and Now stories.
4. Volunteers’ news: The list of Lead Volunteers across a range of golfing and social activities is now available here. Make contact to find out about opportunities available during the year.
