Update – 2022 Men’s Club Championships
Here we go again with the rain effecting our golf so with that we are having to reschedule events. Unfortunately, we are having to reschedule our marquee event, no not Mocatta, Club Championships for 2022. With minimal to no play possible over the weekend, we have decided to move Round 1 with no Club Championship rounds to be played this weekend.
What does that mean for me, I’m glad you asked:
A, B, and C Grades
- The Round 2 timesheets (weekend 21/22 May) will serve as Round 1 i.e. B Grade still plays Saturday with A & C Grades on Sunday. If you do not have your name in these timesheets already now is your chance as there are plenty of spaces available.
- Saturday, 28 May 2022 will serve as Round 2 for all Grades.
- Time sheets will open as per usual, however, if you have played Round 1 you will have priority on the timesheet. What that means is, if you have played Round 1 and end up on the waitlist you will be swapped into a spot where that player did not play Round 1.
Juniors
- As the majority will be away (weekend 21/22 May) you will have the below dates to qualify for the Matchplay portion of Club Championships.
- Round 1 will now take place Sunday, 29 May 2022 with Round 2 taking place Saturday, 4 June 2022.
- Joe Janison will book your time so please liaise with him to secure a tee times. A reminder that there will be no more than two Juniors per group.
Byneset
- Sunday, 22 May 2022 and Sunday, 29 May 2022 will serve as Round 1. If you manage to play both Sundays, the first score will count as Qualifying…not the best of the two.
The Matchplay dates remain as is. As such, the draws after all qualifying rounds have been played will be made available Thursday, 2 June 2022. Original conditions of entry still apply, except for the information above, and these can be read by clicking here.
At this stage we may be playing the wet weather course with routing to be determined closer to Round 1. We want Club Championships to be the highlight of our golfing calendar, so are doing everything possible to ensure we have the best conditions for everyone.
We appreciate your patience and if there are any questions please contact Joe Janison, Reece McRae, or myself.
Kind regards
Ash Sturmer, Men’s Captain
