New Reciprocal Club Arrangements – Club 1896
A total of 19 clubs, all founded in 1896, the majority in the British Isles, have formulated a reciprocal arrangement with each other. The Brisbane Golf Club is proud to be a part of this. As well as the fabulous reciprocal arrangements we already have in Australia and overseas you can now add 19 first class championship courses in Scotland, Northern Ireland, England, United States, Ireland and Wales to your playing list. Click here to view the website and plan your next golfing adventure. This makes our reciprocal arrangements among the best in the country.
New Golf Tuition Centre
We are pleased to announce the construction of our new golf tuition centre has commenced and should be completed in the coming weeks. This facility was much needed to provide our teaching professionals with a space to work with our Members during inclement weather. Additionally, the facility will allow the technology often used by our teaching professionals to be permanently set up.
The Member Services’ Sub-Committee is asking Members for assistance to name the Golf Tuition Centre and please email your suggestions to our CEO, Geoff Kuehner via geoff@brisbanegolfclub.com.au.
An invitation will be sent to all Members once the facility is completed to participate in the opening celebrations.
Taking Relief
Our golf course provides toilets at hole 4, the clubhouse and hole 16 which are strategically located to cover most holes. It would be appreciated by your playing group and playing groups adjacent if you could use these. It is understood that this is not always possible and in those emergency circumstances, Members should ensure they are well out of sight of others. Urinating in a public place is an offence in Queensland so it is obviously deemed offensive to the majority of people. Your cooperation in this matter would be appreciated. If for no other reason please consider your playing partners who have to shake your hand at the conclusion of the game.
P.S. There is zero tolerance of any Member urinating in the car park and they will have to front the committee to explain the circumstances and reasons they shouldn’t be suspended.
Internal Stairs
The internal stairs from the Garden Room leading to the locker room and Member’s Bar, after being closed during COVID-19 for health and safety reasons, have now been re-opened.
Digital Ordering
me&u has been relaunched and as a reminder to Members this is a smart menu that lives inside your pocket allowing you to conveniently order food and drinks and pay your bill. This is particularly handy if you are in the Member’s Lounge when it is not staffed and require service. All you need to do is tap on the icon glued to the table and your order will be delivered promptly to you. The app can be downloaded from the apple store or google play. As a relaunch special, when you place your first order on me&u, you will receive a drink with compliments from our CEO!
Anzac Day Ceremony
Anzac Day is a National Day of Remembrance to commemorate all Australians and New Zealanders who served and died in all wars. This includes many past Members of The Brisbane Golf Club. A dawn service has been held at the club for the past 7 years and has been growing in attendance each year. On Tuesday, 25 April our service, commencing at 6:00am, will be led by Vice President, Deb Kember and will be a moving and fitting tribute to those Members and other Australians and New Zealanders who fell in previous conflicts. All Members, their families and indeed the public are invited to attend. A BBQ breakfast, requesting a gold coin donation for Legacy, will follow with shotgun starts at 7:00am and 12:15pm.
New Driving Range Rules
Please be advised that use of the driving range is restricted on Saturday’s during the hours of 6:00am to 8:00am and 10:40am to 12:15pm to Members playing in the competition. This new rule will ensure those playing will have an opportunity to warm up prior to their round.
Family Entrance Fees
To further enhance The Brisbane Golf Club as a family friendly institution, the Committee has approved family entrance fees.
- 50% reduction to immediate family
- 25% reduction to non-immediate family
