Senior Team’s Challenge – Match Report v Carbrook
Members participating in the Senior Team’s Challenge played Carbrook Golf Club at The Brisbane Golf Club today.
In superb Autumn conditions the team won 5.5/0.5. It was a fun day with the matches played in great spirit. The Carbrook players noticed the changes to our course and commented very favourably. Their captain mentioned to me in particular that the vistas that David Mason has created provide a great visual effect.
Some of the highlights of the day include:
* Mike Murphy and Craig James started with birdies on the first three holes to be three up and never looked back from there.
* Peter Lansom has found some really good form and had a huge 7/6 win.
* Rookie Ian Burgess had a good first up win over their captain; and
* Clark Anderson at number one was feeling very intimidated after three holes because his opponent had been knocking his balls prodigious distances (nearly drove into the water in front of the green at hole three and Clark told me he just ‘tapped’ that one). Clark fought back valiantly to square the match on 18.
