Facebook Update
As you are probably aware, The Brisbane Golf Club has been using Facebook since 2012 to share news at it happens with members and the broader community.
Unfortunately, in recent months our Facebook page and our members have become the target for derogatory comments and scam offers from followers who have no connection with the Club.
Members who support the site are experiencing multiple friend requests from unknown people and increasing numbers of spam type comments.
To ensure the online privacy and safety of members, we will be suspending postings until a course of action can be determined on advice from our social media adviser.
If you are experiencing multiple unwelcome friend requests, we recommend unliking and unfollowing the Club page.
In addition, please do not respond to any comments made in response to yours or make any more comments until further advised. You may like to delete your comment if you have an unwelcome response, which will be deleted along with your comment.
If you require assistance with this process, the staff are happy to help.
While we value to community spirit developed through the BGC Facebook page, members online safety is our priority.
We will provide an update in the coming weeks.
