Brisbane Seniors Report – April

Another thrilling instalment of Brisbane Seniors At Play!

Midweek Senior Team Challenge.

After 2 rounds of the STC, we have come up against two very good teams in Gailes (at Brisbane) and Nudgee (at Nudgee) and come up desperately just short of a result in both matches.

While it’s early in the term, we might need to see some results in other games later in the season go our way to make the semis this year. We certainly won’t be the only team to be beaten by Gailes at home.

AUSOOM.

The National Seniors.

Unfortunately a pair of missed cuts in one of the biggest and best senior tournaments in the country. Green dot is National Moonah, Purple dot is National Old.

Cobram Barooga.

A creditable top 10 here, however Steve has relayed that his putting let him down here, but a welcome return to form.

Special Mention to Alison Cook playing in her first National Event. Stableford scores listed.

NSW Seniors Classic.

A superb result for Stephen Deane on some very difficult golf courses.  Green Dot – The Lakes, Purple Dot – The Australian, Orange Dot – Avondale.

QSOOM RESULTS

INDOOROOPILLY QSOOM – 8 Players from BGC.

Nice round from Graeme Bell with Darryl Stuckey and Geoff Holding also breaking 80 to finish in the top 10.

Nett – Graeme Bell with the 36 points.

ROYAL PINES QSOOM

Seems the fields are getting better at these events….

Nett – 35 points for a top 10 result for yours truly.

BRIBIE ISLAND QSOOM

Looks like we all left plenty out there on a course that played very long.

Nett – Allan Howe with a top ten, ruing missed opportunities on the back 9.

QSOOM Order of Merit – Scratch – With 4 months to go, Geoff Holding in the top 10 and leads the way for BGC. 396 players listed.

Nett – Myself with a slight edge over Geoff Holding, both within range of the top 3.

STOP PRESS !! The Nudgee Masters in August (8^TH AND 9^TH) is open for entries. It fills fast and is on a first in basis. Only 80 players … get in quickly! The Nudgee Masters is traditionally the first event of the new season.
