Member Update
I trust you all enjoyed a wonderful Christmas with family and friends. As we approach the New Year, I would like to provide some important updates on matters of interest, including the dam on Hole 5, front entrance works, and car parking arrangements for the upcoming Brisbane International tennis tournament.
Dam on Hole 5
In recent days, members may have noted a significant drop in the water levels of the dam on Hole 5. Earlier this week, we identified a leak stemming from an old 260mm concrete pipe located between the 5th hole and the pump shed.
While the situation may appear dramatic, we rarely rely on this dam for irrigation during the summer (wet) season. Nevertheless, we are prioritising a resolution and have scheduled a contractor to address the issue during the week commencing 6 January 2024.
In the interim, we have implemented a temporary solution to minimise further water loss and to retain any water collected from rainfall. While this measure is not permanent, we are hopeful it will hold until the contractor’s arrival.
Front Entrance Works
Regrettably, the scheduled work on the front entrance were delayed again due to wet weather conditions in the week prior to Christmas. We now anticipate that a contractor will be available no earlier than the second week of January. We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to complete these works.
Tennis Car Parking
From Sunday, 29 December, to Sunday, 5 January, the Club will be offering car parking for patrons attending the Brisbane International at Walker Street. The cost for parking will be $25 per vehicle. However, parking will be complimentary for members.
During this period, the Chelmer course will be in play.
