BGC to Farewell Rudy Cheong

It is with mixed emotions that we announce the resignation of our Food & Beverage Manager, Rudy Cheong, who will be stepping down after eight years of dedicated service to the Club.

Rudy joined us at The Brisbane Golf Club in February 2017, following then Executive Chef Frederick Marechal from The Royal on the Park Hotel. Since his arrival, Rudy has been an integral member of the management team and played a vital role in helping the Club through several significant challenges. From our recovery efforts after the floods, to assisting us through the difficulties of COVID-19, a fire, and most recently a cyclone, Rudy’s passion for the Club has been unwavering.

During his time, Rudy has overseen at least 120 weddings and many more Club events, with exceptional feedback consistently received from his clients and members. His attention to detail, commitment to excellence, and ability to deliver memorable experiences have been integral to the success of these special ocassions.

He will leave a mark on our food and beverage operations and has undoubtably enhanced the overall member experience. His contributions have not only improved the quality of our offerings but have also helped shape the very essence of our Club’s hospitality.

There will for certain many of us who will miss the personal connections he’s forged over the years.

Rudy will now take some well-deserved time off to rest and recharge before exploring future opportunities in the food and beverage industry. The Club will begin the recruitment process for a replacement in the coming days and will keep members updated as we move forward.

We take this opportunity to thank Rudy for his exceptional service and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.
