Temporary Amendment to the 9-hole Course Routing

We wish to inform you of a temporary amendment to the 9-hole course routing, which will take effect from Wednesday, 24 September 2025. The 9-hole routing will temporarily shift to the back nine of the Chelmer Course, comprising the following holes:

10, 19, 20, 21, 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18.

This change has been made to assist with the continued development and establishment of the new greens on holes 11, 12 and 13, which were resurfaced during Stage 2 of our Greens Replacement Program (GRP) over Winter.

While we originally allocated 16 weeks for the grow-in period of these greens, it became clear that a further 2-4 weeks was necessary to achieve the quality standards expected at The Brisbane Golf Club. As you would appreciate, Winter is not an ideal season for turf establishment; however, undertaking the resurfacing of three greens during this time allowed the GRP to be completed within a single Summer, avoiding an extension into a second Summer.

Bringing these greens back into play as scheduled on 8 September was a critical milestone to meet our contracted start date with our Stage 3 contractor, Atlas, but more importantly, to avoid any delays to the overall GRP timeline. Since reopening, our Course Superintendent has observed ongoing improvement in these greens but they are far from ideal.

That said, we now have the opportunity to rest greens 11, 12, and 13 for a 10 to 14-day period, beginning Wednesday, 24 September. We have made the decision to proceed with this option to further support their establishment.

This revised routing has the added benefit of ensuring Members will continue to pass by the Garden Room, which conveniently allows us to defer the implementation of our new On-Course Ordering App for the time being.

Meanwhile, Stage 3 of the GRP is well underway, with 12 greens being worked on. Greens 2, 7 and 8 are being stolonised this week, leaving nine greens and the practice greens remaining.

We thank you for your continued support and understanding as we deliver this important project that will enhance the playing experience at The Brisbane Golf Club for years to come.
