Another email from Golf Australia in relation to the Golf Australia CONNECT roll out.
Dear Club Administrator,
Further to our previous communications notifying clubs that some incorrect handicaps are displaying in Golf Australia CONNECT, we are pleased to confirm that the handicap recalculation and validation process is progressing well and remains on track for completion by Friday, October 10.
We expect competition golf to resume from Saturday October 11, within the Golf Australia CONNECT ecosystem.
The Scratch and Slope Rating data inaccuracies have been resolved, and a significant number of golfer records have been recalculated. This has resulted in handicap accuracy now being in line with the expected adjustments under the World Handicap System, ensuring fair and reliable competition scoring.
Golf Australia recognises that this part of the process has taken longer than originally planned and sincerely apologises for any inconvenience caused to clubs and golfers. We also want to acknowledge the ongoing cooperation of Licensed Software Providers (LSPs) and club administrators who have worked with us to reach this point.
Competition guidance
Golf Australia continues to strongly recommend that clubs do not conduct handicap competitions before Saturday, October 11, to ensure results are based on finalised and verified handicap data.
Next steps for clubs
- Competition golf is on track to resume from Saturday, October 11.
- Handicaps and scoring data will continue to refresh automatically as recalculation finalises. Members may see changes to their displayed handicap records and scoring history in this time.
- Clubs can expect system performance to gradually improve over the coming days as data synchronisation completes.
- To assist with system performance on the first weekend of full operations, clubs might consider processing this weekend’s competition scores for handicapping early next week.
Following completion of the transition to Golf Australia CONNECT, Golf Australia will continue to validate and refine handicap data to ensure the integrity of the national handicapping system.
Golf Australia will provide further advice to all clubs by 2pm AEST tomorrow (Friday, October 10) to confirm next steps.
We again thank all clubs and partners for their patience, collaboration, and understanding during this complex, one-off transition. This process has been essential to ensure the accuracy, fairness, and long-term integrity of the national handicapping system under Golf Australia CONNECT.
