Curzon Street Bridge Works

We wish to advise of upcoming construction works on Curzon Street to replace the existing bridge and roadway. These works will be completed by the Brisbane Markets Limited and are scheduled to commence on 9 March 2026. They are expected to be completed around August 2026, with a construction period of approximately five months.

The project involves replacing and raising the existing bridge and roadway infrastructure. The new bridge will increase the level of the bridge and the Curzon Street entry by approximately 1.2 metres, to around 7.0 metres AHD (Australian Height Datum). This upgrade will modernise the ageing structure and improve market access to the area.

Planning and development for this project has been underway for several years and has included detailed design, required approvals, and tender processes.

All construction activities will take place on land owned by Brisbane Markets Limited. No access to land owned by The Brisbane Golf Club is anticipated. However, members should be aware that works will be visible from holes adjacent to the bridge and surrounding roadways. There will be general construction activity and associated noise for the duration of the project.

Please also note that Curzon Street will be closed near the bridge for the duration of the works.

We appreciate your understanding during this period. Should you experience any issues or have any concerns regarding the construction works, please contact:
