The Club is\u00a0keen to use the competition to enhance our members\u2019 experience while also being competitive.<\/p>\n<p>The \u2018Senior Team&#8217;s Challenge\u2019 (STC) is a round robin event between teams from nominating golf clubs.\u00a0The\u00a0format of play is 18 hole match-play\u00a0and each\u00a0group match\u00a0round\u00a0consists of four single \u2018off the stick\u2019 matches and two 4BBB handicap matches using \u00be handicaps.\u00a0Typically, the single matches are played by the lower\u00a0single\u00a0handicap players, whereas the 4BBB matches are played by higher handicap players.\u00a0Teams are made up of eight players 55 years of age or older on the day of competition.\u00a0 Additionally, a minimum of two team members must be over 60 years of age\u00a0for each round.\u00a0All players must have a current GA handicap.<\/p>\n<p>It is anticipated the competition will start in late April 2021 and progress over approximately eight weeks.\u00a0BGC\u2019s home games will\u00a0generally\u00a0be played on Thursdays\u00a0subject to course\u00a0availability.<\/p>\n<p>Leveraging on the success of our Pennant teams, BGC is raising the status of the STC within our Club.\u00a0Team shirts will be provided together with post competition drinks and snacks.\u00a0The team uniform will be the Club supplied shirt and navy shorts or long trousers.\u00a0The Challenge is a great way to play match-play golf in a supportive team culture.<\/p>\n<p>BGC\u2019s participation in the STC will be managed by Rob Bischof and Rob Brown in consultation with myself.\u00a0 The two Robs will be the co-ordinators and point of contact for our team(s).<\/p>\n<p>On this basis, BGC is seeking players to play in the Challenge.\u00a0 To be eligible, players must be older than 55 years and have a current GA handicap less than 18.\u00a0BGC is seeking to give as many eligible players as is possible the opportunity to play in the STC.<\/p>\n<p>If you are interested, please send an email to\u00a0Rob Bischof via\u00a0<a data-cke-saved-href=\"mailto:Rob.Bischof@outlook.com\">Rob.Bischof@outlook.com<\/a>\u00a0before 5pm on Thursday, 31 March 2021 providing:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Availability (partial availability during the Challenge is OK)<\/li>\n<li>Shirt size (e.g. M, L, XL)<\/li>\n<li>Age (must be older than 55)<\/li>\n<li>GA handicap (must be less than 18)<\/li>\n<li>Contact details (mobile, email address).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additionally, if you have any questions please let me know.
