Welcome to the June edition of the Red Tees.\u00a0 After having another week during May interrupted by some huge storms closing the course for a couple of days, we are now hoping Mother Nature is kind and look forward to what is a very busy golfing schedule ahead.<\/p>\n

Other than a full golfing calendar, there are plenty of social activities planned.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

What a magnificent time of year it is at the moment with glorious golfing weather, pennants back in our calendar, championships just around the corner\u2026 who will have their photographs added to the champions wall in the locker room?<\/p>\n

Congratulations to all of our pennant teams who continue to make us proud. \u00a0Our pennant teams are yet another great example of the camaraderie shown in our wonderful golf club, with all players, caddies and captains working together week after week to do their best for their teammates.<\/p>\n

Sadly, just as we all are feeling \u201cnormal\u201d, with bunkers and rakes back in play, pennants back on the calendar, the return of weekly announcements and presentations, we are again reminded of how fragile this \u201cnormality\u201d is with the\u00a0 return of Covid lock downs in Victoria this week. This is a timely reminder to us all that this virus is still with us, and we have to continue to be vigilant with our Covid safety practices.<\/p>\n

Enjoy our beautiful weather and freedoms for now, and good golfing to all.<\/p>\n

Tuesday\u00a0<\/b><\/span>Announcements<\/strong><\/h5>\n

A reminder that Tuesday weekly announcements have resumed.\u00a0 Announcements will be conducted at 12.30pm in the Member\u2019s Bar and also projected to the Garden Room surrounds.\u00a0 If you are a prize winner and downstairs during announcements, it would be appreciated if you could pop into the Member\u2019s Bar to collect your prize.<\/p>\n

New Irrigation System<\/b><\/span><\/h5>\n

As the time of writing this irrigation update, Hole 3 had just been completed and works had begun on Hole 2. Four holes including 4, 5, 6 and 3 have now been completed. Unfortunately, due to wet weather which included a major storm in early May the project is approximately 5 weeks behind schedule. At this stage, after Hole 2 is completed, the contractors will install the irrigation on Hole 7, 8 and 17. All Members are reminded that when a hole is being worked on, we need to stay well away from the hole as It is a work site in its entirety. \u00a0I take this opportunity to thank Members for their patience during the project to date.<\/p>\n

Weekly updates on our irrigation are published and distributed via the Golf Shop. Please don\u2019t hesitate to ask if you have any questions.<\/p>\n

Thursday Time Sheets<\/b><\/span><\/h5>\n

As has been communicated everyone should now be aware that the Committee has agreed to trial a \u201cTwo Tee Start\u201d for Thursday golf.\u00a0 This will give members greater flexibility to choose either competition or social golf in the morning fields.<\/p>\n

The 1st<\/sup> <\/strong>tee is now open from 6.30am until 8.22am for compulsory competition play.\u00a0 The 10th<\/sup> tee will open at 7.00am until 8.22am for social play with optional competition<\/p>\n

GolfCore<\/b><\/span><\/h5>\n

We are ready to go!<\/p>\n

Members are invited to attend our GolfCore sessions which will commence on Monday, 7 June 2021<\/u><\/strong>.<\/u><\/p>\n

Matt Winkley from WINKfit has teamed up with professional golfer and exercise physiologist, Gennai Goodwin to deliver the sessions. At its centre GolfCore is a mixture of all the best bits of mobility, pilates, yoga and bodyweight and band strength work designed to improve the athleticism of each participant.<\/p>\n

There will be four sessions held each week and they will run for approximately one hour.\u00a0The classes will be regularly tweaked\u00a0to keep them fresh and interesting and\u00a0are designed to be inclusive. Size, shape, fitness, age and ability will not limit participation.<\/p>\n

Participants will need to bring their own yoga mats and water bottle but other than that, WINKfit will supply any other equipment that is required.<\/p>\n
