Following up on the recent Course Report, this message is to again remind Members of the course renovation works scheduled for next week.<\/p>\n

The course will be closed for 3 days; Tuesday 4, Wednesday 5 and Thursday 6 October 2022 to allow the course maintenance team to carry out the essential major annual renovations to the Greens and the Tees.<\/p>\n

The Clubhouse, Course and Practice facilities will all be closed to Members during these three days. Please click here<\/strong><\/a> to read our Course Closed Policy. Members wishing to collect their golf clubs during this time can do so between 7am and 4pm each day.<\/p>\n

Please note that although the forecast for next week is good, in the unlikely situation that we lose these days to bad weather then the following days will need to be used.<\/p>\n

The green renovations will be to a \u201cmedium\u201d level, with the key works being\u00a0scarifying, hollow-tyning and grooming, followed by sand topdressing.David Mason will share a video update of the important of each process during renovation week.<\/p>\n

As we have seen in previous renovations, for the first week or two the green’s surface will of course be a little uneven and slow to play on, however given that we are now well into the Spring growing season, with intensive maintenance practices we expect to see the playing surfaces rapidly improve in the weeks following. Full recovery of the greens back to optimal performance, condition and appearance is anticipated to be within 8 weeks, subject to weather conditions.<\/p>\n

The tees will also be renovated during this time \u2013 with the key works involving hollow-tyning and sand topdressing.<\/p>\n

While the course is closed staff will be able to undertake a number of other course tasks unimpeded including the opportunity to continue to expand the close-mown surfaces of fairways, tees and surrounds; along with multiple herbicide and fertiliser applications to playing surfaces.<\/p>\n

We also\u00a0anticipate that several other minor course works will be carried out, including the building of the low stone wall along the back of the Hole 13\u00a0tee. Further clearing up of weed tree species, and trees that were impacted by the floods and are now either dead or in poor condition will take place during the course closure. In conjunction with our Course Architect, several other trees and shrubs considered as encroaching on the line of play; from tees and interfering with fairway landing zones and with approach shots to greens, have been identified and these will also be pruned or removed. As outlined in the recent Course Report, substantial new revegetation plantings and creation of natural habitat areas will be continuing as part of the Landscape Masterplan and upcoming Course Enhancement Plan programs.<\/p>\n

We again thank Members for their patience and understanding during these essential annual Course maintenance works.<\/p>\n

David Mason will be hosting a Course Tour on Sunday, 23\u00a0October 2022 from 3.30pm. Members are invited to join him as he takes you around the course and explains the works currently underway and also outlines his plans for the upcoming Summer maintenance period. He will also provide an update on our course enhancement plan which is being developed in conjunction with our recently appointed Course Architect, Paul Mogford. Only 24 places are available for the first Course Tour but a waitlist will be in place. It\u2019s our goal to conduct these are on a regular basis to further improve our communication with Members.
