In fond memory of Life Member Helen Hudson (1931-2023), we are saddened to announce her passing on Tuesday 19th December.<\/p>\n

Helen\u2019s funeral will be held at 1.30pm on Friday 22nd December at the Somerville House Chapel<\/strong><\/a>, Vulture St South Brisbane.<\/p>\n

The service will be followed by a Celebration of Life at The Brisbane Golf Club from 3.00pm \u2013 5.00pm.<\/p>\n

Members are invited to share recollections at the Celebration of Life.\u00a0 Please let me know if you would like to say a few words.\u00a0 Alternatively, if you would like to share a memory to be read out for you, email to dkember@bigpond.net.au<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Helen is remembered as a gracious and glamourous lady who always had time for everyone. She joined the Club in 1952 and celebrated 70 years of membership in 2022. Helen was the recipient of Life Membership in 2016, serving as Associates Secretary 1994-2000 and President 2000-2002.\u00a0 She proudly won the McCartney Cup foursomes in 2003, her first honour board event, partnering Lynne Conroy. She was also B Grade Champion in 2000. In recent years she was a regular at the Mahjong table with June Callaghan, Karen Crichton, and Beverley Dean. Helen met her husband Les through the Club and their daughter Judy Luxton followed in Helen\u2019s golfing footsteps.<\/p>\n
