{"id":25974,"date":"2025-09-29T14:20:28","date_gmt":"2025-09-29T04:20:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brisbane.miclub.com.au\/cms\/?p=25974"},"modified":"2025-09-29T14:20:28","modified_gmt":"2025-09-29T04:20:28","slug":"golf-australia-connect-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brisbane.miclub.com.au\/cms\/2025\/09\/golf-australia-connect-update\/","title":{"rendered":"Golf Australia CONNECT &#8211; Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We want to make you aware of important changes to your handicap and scoring services as part of Golf Australia\u2019s national technology upgrade.<\/p>\n<p>From 10pm AEST, Sunday, 28 September the 25-year-old GOLF Link system will be permanently shut down.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday. 2 October, the new Golf Australia Official App and golfer portal at GOLF.com.au will launch becoming your new home for handicaps, scoring history, and more.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Your new Golf ID<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Your current GOLF Link number is now your Golf ID for life.<\/li>\n<li>From Thursday, 2 October you\u2019ll use this Golf ID to register and log in across the new Golf Australia system.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to Register<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Visit GOLF.com.au and go to the Sign up \/ Login page.<\/li>\n<li>Enter your Golf ID \u2013 a verification email will be sent to your registered email.<\/li>\n<li>Create a new password and confirm your profile details.<\/li>\n<li>Download the new Golf Australia Official App from your app store.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Transition Period<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>During the transition, handicap services will be offline while more than 250 million scores are migrated by Golf Australia. They have provided the following timeline:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>28 Sept \u2013 GOLF Link shuts down permanently.<\/li>\n<li>29 Sept\u20131 Oct \u2013 Handicap services offline; handicaps recalculated to align with the World Handicap System.<\/li>\n<li>1 Oct \u2013 Major cutover day. Expect interruptions and temporary redirects. We recommend avoiding handicap services and websites on this day.<\/li>\n<li>2 Oct \u2013 New App and GOLF.com.au go live. Recalculated handicaps available to view.<\/li>\n<li>2\u201310 Oct \u2013 Clubs (including ours) will transition in phases. Some may take until around 10 October. This is normal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Competition Golf at BGC<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All competitions will proceed as scheduled from Sunday, 28 September to Monday, 6 October, but will not be handicapped. Additionally, there will be no competition on Thursday, 2 October which will be exclusively dedicated to social play.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Local Help \u2013 Onboarding Champions<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Reece McRae in the Golf Shop will help members register, log in and get started on the new platform.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Additional Support<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you need extra assistance, Golf Australia\u2019s Support Team is available 7 days a week (6.30am \u2013 8.30pm AEST):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Email:<strong> <a href=\"mailto:www.golf.org.au\/registration\" data-cke-saved-href=\"mailto:www.golf.org.au\/registration\">help@golf.com.au<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Web: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/help.golf.com.au\/\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/help.golf.com.au\">help.golf.com.au<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This is the largest digital upgrade in the history of golf in Australia, supporting more than 450,000 golfers and 1,900 clubs.
