The Brisbane Golf Club will play it’s Round 2 match of the Division 1 pennant’s season against Redcliffe Golf Club this Sunday, 24 July. The team will be looking to secure another important win at home, but a strong fight is expected as they come up against the defending champions.

Redcliffe also started their 2022 campaign with a win in Round 1 against Pacific Golf Club with the margin of 13-8 the same score line BCG defeated Keperra Country Golf Club by.

In Round 2 we welcome back current Club Champion, Sam Slater, former Queensland Junior Amateur Champion, Billy Dowling and current Junior Club Champion, Campbell Kerr to the squad. All three players were unavailable for selection in Round 1 while playing international tournaments. On the flip side the squad will be without two of our strong performers from last week in Sam Howse and Conor Whitelock with both playing at the Portsea Open Amateur over the weekend. We wish both players the best of luck.

Our Open’s team is Cooper Clarke, Tom Deane, Billy Dowling, Wade Edwards, Craig Mahon, Luke Kjeldal, Sam Slater, John Smoljko, Ilija Soldan, Chris Somerfield and Paul Todd.

The juniors produced 4 out of a possible 5 points last week which included three wins and two squared matches which was an outstanding result considering the quality of the juniors from Keperra. This week the team will need to again be at the best.

Our Junior team is Campbell Kerr, Justin McCormack, Chase Oberle, Harvey Palmer and Eric Yeon.

An unchanged Master’s team has been announced. Keperra was extremely strong in the seniors and our two Masters debutants will certainly be better after their experiences from last weekend.

Our Masters team is Ian Burgess, Stephen Deane, Eugene Estella, Phil Lynem and Ash Sturmer.

In the other match this Sunday, Keperra Country Golf Club will play Pacific Golf Club at home.
