QSOOM October Wrap
Our monthly wrap up of the October events on the QSOOM tour … but first …
A very big congratulations to Stephen Deane for his latest efforts. Steve travelled down to Launceston Golf Club (a reciprocal) and ran T8 in the Australian Senior Championships with scores of 79-76-72 (+11). The 72 in the last round was equal to the days best round.
He’s also finished 10th on the AUSOOM, which now starts a new season. A great effort!
And …
October QSOOM – Not too much action out there this month as a lot of the SEQ clubs are under maintenance. However there has been some more BGC success.
BDGA Senior Championship – Nudgee Golf Club.
Scratch – A win to Stephen Deane who has beaten 3 others on a countback to win the BDGA Title (or it might be shared … not sure).
T1 – Deaney – 77
T21 – Ian Brereton 87 – (T-11 Super Seniors)
T25 – Paul Graham 89

City Golf Club – Toowoomba – Cancelled due to bad weather.
WARWICK
A good win to Ian Frost of Lakelands … one of the big 5 and recent Australian Rep making a bit of a charge.
BGC Results – Scratch
Nett – A good Top 10 result for Graham Paul on what proved to be a tough day at Warwick.
TOOWOOMBA MIDDLE RIDGE – A win to local David Stephen who shot 1 Under, from Gary Heslop of Nudgee. Two guys to watch … I played with David the day before at Warwick – his rookie event – and he was -4 after 9 holes – finished 3 over. Heslop is a well-known player … It will be interesting to see if they persist in playing QSOOM events.

I was hoping to remain in third, but only so we could sing “BGC let us rejoice for we are 1 and 3” …. But I was overtaken yesterday by the perennial winner, Brad Dowling.
Nett QSOOM. – A nice month for Graham Paul who has moved in to 4th position.

Coming events …
The rest of the year sees another 7 events. I’ll list them all as Brookwater on the 19th of December is filling fast already. Should be some good points on offer at a couple of these as some of the guns will be away for various reasons …
