2023 Women’s Club Championships

The 2023 Women’s Club Championships will be played over two 18-hole gross qualifying rounds starting on the week of Saturday, 20 May followed by three rounds of Match Play from Sunday, 11 June.

Senior Salver

The Senior Salver will be played over two 18-hole nett rounds played on Tuesday, 23 May and Thursday, 25 May. Players must elect to play in the Club Championships or Senior Salver and must be 65 years or older on the first day of competition.

The qualifying rounds for the 2023 Women’s Club Championship will be held between Saturday, 20 May and Saturday, 27 May.

There are two options for each round

  • Round 1: Saturday, 20 May or Tuesday, 23 May
  • Round 2: Thursday, 25 May or Saturday, 27 May

You may play once only in the competition fields for both rounds:

  • If you elect to play Round 1 on Saturday, 20 May, you will only be able to play socially in the afternoon on Tuesday, 23 May.
  • If you elect to play Round 2 on Thursday, 25 May, you will only be able to play socially after 3pm on Saturday, 27 May,

There are four combinations of qualifying rounds:

  • If you choose Saturday, 20 May as your first round you may then choose either Thursday, 25 May or Saturday, 27 May as your second round.
  • If you choose Tuesday, 23 May as your first round you may then choose either Thursday, 25 May or Saturday, 27 May as your second round.

Eight (8) players from A, B & C Grade will qualify for Match play.

The playing handicap on the first qualifying round will determine the grade in which a member is eligible to compete with grades as follows:

A Grade:    + – 22

B Grade:  23 – 31

C Grade:  32 – 45

Players must be available for the following rounds of Match Play on Sunday, 11 June, Sunday, 18 June, and Sunday, 25 June.

Access to Timesheets

The timesheets for both qualifying rounds played on Saturdays will open at 6:00pm on Friday, 28 April for both Women & Men wishing to play in the Club Championships.

Timesheets for other Members wishing to play in competition on the Saturday but NOT in the Club Championships will open seven days prior.

Women Members playing on Saturday, 20 May will play off the 10th tee and will have equal access to the time sheet along with C Grade Men.

Women Members playing on Saturday, 27 May will play off the first tee and will have equal access to the time sheet along with the B Grade Men.

The timesheets for qualifying rounds played on Tuesday and Thursday will open as usual at 6:00am two weeks prior to competition.

Finals

Quarter Finals: 18 holes of Match Play for A, B & C Grade played on Sunday, 11 June.

Semi Finals: 18 holes of Match Play for A, B & C Grade played on Sunday, 18 June.

Finals: 18 holes of Match Play for B & C Grades & 36 Holes of Match Play for A Grade played on Sunday, 25 June.

2023 Women’s Club Championship’s Conditions of Play

  • Qualifying rounds will be played on the Yeerongpilly course.
  • Two qualifying rounds of 18 holes gross.
  • The playing handicap on the first qualifying round will be the one used for eligibility to compete in A, B or C Grade.
  • Players may play once only in the competition field for each qualifying round.
  • All ties in qualifying will be decided on a count back.
  • Motorised carts cannot be used by players in A Grade. Exemptions will apply with a Medical Certificate.
  • All matches to be played on the day and time scheduled.

Senior Salver Conditions of Play

  • The competition is played in conjunction with the qualifying rounds of the Women’s Club Championships on Tuesday, 23 May and Thursday, 25 May as a nett stroke event.
  • Players must nominate for either the Senior Salver or Club Championships.
  • The daily handicap used in round one will be the one used for round two of the Senior Salver.
  • Minimum of twelve players must enter for the competition to proceed.
  • Minimum age to be eligible for the Senior Salver is 65 years at the date of the first round.
  • In case of the same aggregate nett score ties will be decided by count back.
  • Nomination to play in the Senior Salver must be clearly marked on the score card at the commencement of play in Round 1.
  • All players are permitted to use motorised golf carts.

The Match Committee reserves the right to amend the Championship conditions and the decision of the Committee will, in all matters, be final.
