More Detail

At an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) held in April 2023, members approved the granting of an easement to Urban Utilities for the purpose of delivering an upgraded sewerage system for the Yeerongpilly Green development.

The Club has now been advised that the sewerage works will commence from Monday, 15 February 2024.

As a result, the driving range will close from this date until the works are completed, which are expected to take 16 weeks.

At the same EGM, members also approved the use of compensation monies received for the granting of the easement and subsequent business interruption to be invested on a driving range upgrade.

The driving range upgrade will be completed at the same time.

Designed by course architect, Paul Mogford, in consultation with our course superintendent, David Mason, the upgrade will feature:

  • A two tiered, widened and level driving range tee.
  • A synthetic all weather turf hitting area.
  • A larger golf tuition tee.
  • Four target greens with bunkers.
  • Netting to reduce the number of golf balls being hit over our boundary and adjacent to Hole 9.

A temporary driving range will be in play using Hole 10 during this time. The 10th and 11th greens will be used for short game practice.

Members will have noticed that a temporary driving range tee has been constructed for this purpose.

With Holes 10 and 11 being used for the temporary driving range and practice areas, the course routing for this period will be as follows:

  • Front Nine 1 to 9
  • Back Nine 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 20, 19 and 18

This routing has been chosen to allow members the opportunity to walk past the Garden Room.

While Hole 10 is being used for the temporary driving range, there will be an internal out of bounds when playing Hole 18. There will be OOB stakes (white with black tops) placed appropriately and rule 18.2 or Model rule E-5 are to be followed.

N.B. Out of Bounds rules will only apply from January 15th. However, the OOB stakes will be in place from January 1st so please take note of their position in preparation for the 15th.

The sewerage works will also impact the tee on Hole 1 for several weeks which will require this hole to be played from the forward tees and fairway positions. Since the EGM we have been advised that a new Hole 1 tee will need to be constructed at the conclusion of works.

Despite the driving range being closed, our golf tuition services will continue with lessons available on the temporary driving range on Hole 10 or on Hole 11.
