  1. Course & surrounds: The Committee discussed ongoing concerns with greens, fairway patches and bunkers, noting the recent improvement in rough areas and the recommencement of weed spraying in the nature areas. We are sourcing a summary of the current condition of the greens and an improvement plan for the months ahead.
  2. Old golf shop: The old golf shop slab is to be demolished and removed on Wednesday 27th March, from 7.00am. We are expecting the task to be completed in one day. The temporary fencing will be moved to create a loading area in the driveway closest to the site. Our parking area will be open to members via the parallel driveway. Care will need to be taken on entry and departure.
  3. Temporary golf shop: The move of the golf retail space and scorecard scanners facility into the front section of the women’s locker room will be commencing in the next couple of weeks.
  4. Temporary club storage:Club storage will be available again shortly with temporary storage facilities to be installed in the coming weeks. Members are reminded to ensure they have insurance in place through their home and contents policy.
  5. New golf shop: The Centenary Gardens gazebo is to be relocated to the back of the practice tee on the driving range in the next few weeks. There, it will provide a valuable shade and rest area for golfers. The new golf shop has a larger undercover area at the entrance where members will be able to shelter and sit not far from where the gazebo was located.
  6. Driving range urban utilities work: The state government urban utilities work is progressing towards an expected late May completion date. The completion date will depend on weather conditions and the work remaining on schedule. The contractor reports that: the section of tunnel boring from the driving range south to Allawah Street boundary is complete access to the rail corridor is scheduled to coincide with line closure between 12-14 April. Boring works will commence from the Queensland Tennis Centre land, under the rail corridor to our 1st tee, where a new utility hole will be constructed.
  7. Driving range restoration & upgrade: The works are well underway, despite being a couple of weeks behind schedule due to the January and February wet weather and a slowdown in the delivery of clean fill. The team is endeavouring to make up time to complete the project in June. The driving range reopening date will depend on the growth the new grass surface. Trees have been removed to widen the practice tee and to allow the installation of safety netting, replacing the old fences. The poles for the netting will be installed next week. We recently appointed Ralph Heading, to assist the team. Ralph is a highly experienced project manager also managing the golf shop rebuild.  View the plan for the driving range restoration and upgrade here.
  8. Course Advisory Group: Stephen Deane, Lloyd Cotterill, Al Grieve and Janet Nathanson met with our Course Architect Paul Mogford to discuss the Course Enhancement Plan (CEP) and priorities. The CEP will be available for members to view shortly.
  9. Workplace Health & Safety: Access to the 10th green, 19th and 21st tee from the clubhouse has been rerouted to the 11th fairway to ensure safety of walkers while the practice fairway is located on the 10th
  10. Course Tour: The course tour booked in for Sunday 7 April is rescheduled for later in the year.
